T-shirt collars are usually pre knitted in batch and then sewn to the t-shirt. Since the collars are knitted, various patterns can be produced. The most basic collars are just plain in color. These collars are either yarn dyed and knitted, or dyed together with the fabric.

When patterns get a little complicated, we call the jacquard collars. In the picture below is an example of a semi jacquard collar. It is "semi" because the pattern is only limmted to the bottom half of the collar.

Collars with complicated patterns are known as jaquard collar. Jacquard collar may contain images, words, and pictures.
