Microfiber T-Shirts FAQs

cotton-dri-t-shirt.pngWe've put up a few articles on the ever popular but often confused material - The microfiber T-shirt. Commonly known as Dry Fit, they are often sold as a special functional fabric to keep you dry always. We do not think this is always the case, as there are plenty of fakes around, and it is pretty hard to differentiate from an authentic fabric to a a common microfiber. In the Malaysia promotional t-shirt market, microfiber t-shirt are usually of the worst quality. As it is suppose to keep us cool and dry, the opposite happens. The wearer feels hot, sweaty and sticky.

Do check out our FAQs on these T-shirts. We have articles on about 3 different kinds of Microfiber:

  • The Common Microfiber
  • Dual Layer Microfiber
  • Permanent Wicking Microfiber

Also updated in our Material offerings, we have introduced our house brand of Dual Layer Microfiber - The Cotton-Dri.

[Article] How to Contract Manufacture T-Shirts: Part 3 - Imprints

sample-embroid.jpg

We'ved put up an article in continuation on "How to contract manufacture T-Shirt" series. This time its about imprints - which may generally be silkscreen, heat transfer, embroidery, direct to garment or any other fabric printing techniques.

It is important that you communicate precisely what kind of imprints you need and how you want them to look like. Especially when it is your corporate or brand logo, the outcome needs to be very close to what you expect, else it may affect your image.

Do note, the more complicated your design imprints, naturally the higher the cost! So keep your design simple if you are on a tight budget.

Try to be specific and accurate as possible. To enable the manufacturer to quote properly, the more details you give the better. Here's a list of what you should be concern at.

  • what kind of imprints
  • number of spots
  • position of imprints
  • size of imprints
  • number of colors/stitches of imprints
  • pantone code of colors
  • visual / high resolution or vector files of image

[Article] How to Contract Manufacture T-Shirts - T-Shirt Types

The harder part of the T-shirt buying process is knowing your fabrics and communicating your requirements to the manufacturer. The easier part is letting them know what kind of T-shirt types you want. Which normally is normally either non-collared (round necks, v-necks, etc.) or collared (polo, mock neck, etc)

Once you have decided on the basic shape, we can look at the "cut & sew" patterns. Cut & Sew patterns are basically up to you to design. And they can be done as long as it is possible to sew. Fortunately to help the buyer make a decision in the design selection process, our t-shirt configurator comes in handy in doing on the spot visuals.

After the type of shirt and the pattern is all set, we can look into the details. There are many parts of the t-shirt we can add designs to. Here's a brief list

The details of this article is published in FAQ - How to section as How to Contract Manufacture T-Shirts: Part 2 - T-Shirt Types. It is the 2nd part of the on going series to help t-shirt buyers communicate with manufacturers.

[Article] How to Contract Manufacture T-Shirts - Choosing Fabric

fabric-types.jpgVery often we get enquiries like "I'd like to order T-shirts, please quote me". We really would like to help you, but it's an impossible enquiry to fulfill. We need as much information as we can get on exactly what T-shirts you expect to buy. We understand that not everybody is a T-shirt expert. So we try our best to explain T-shirt terminology to our clients.

Selection of T-shirts usually starts with the type of fabric. Fabric specification

* Fabric Composition
* Fabric Pattern
* Fabric Weight
* Fabric Color
* Qty Required

If you have these specifications at hand, it would help the manufacturer give you a more accurate quote, let alone tell you whether he/she can fulfil your requirement.

We have published a more detailed article on this subject in the FAQ section. Part 1 of this "how to" article  How to Contract Manufacture T-Shirts: Part 1 - Choosing Fabric details how to communicate the fabric specification of the shirt you intend to order. And hopefully your t-shirt will come out with the correct texture, thickness, color and price.
